Camp War Eagle Parent Program Information

The Camp War Eagle Parent and Guest Program runs concurrently to the student orientation program. During the program, parents and guests will have the opportunity to participate in many activities to familiarize themselves with Auburn’s campus and services. Some of these activities include information sessions about campus services, interaction with faculty and staff, and academic advising sessions with the students. While there are activities in which parents may interact with their students, the majority of Camp War Eagle will be spent with parents and students in separate programs.

The parents will be assisted through the orientation program by Parent Counselors. The Parent Counselors are a dedicated group of Auburn students who are chosen through a selection process in early Spring and receive extensive training so that they will be best prepared to assist parents by providing important information about campus services and a wealth of knowledge about Auburn’s beautiful campus and its vibrant history. Meet the 2016 Parent Counselors!

The cost of the Parent program is $75 per guest. All fees will be charged to the student’s account. No additional payment is required at this time.

General Information

While on-campus lodging is not provided for parents, there are numerous hotels in the Auburn-Opelika area that are available to Camp War Eagle parents. The Auburn and Opelika Tourism Bureau has provided a lodging brochure in the CWE confirmation packet and has additional resources on their web page. Additionally, a block of guest rooms is being held at The Hotel at Auburn University with discounted rates specifically for Camp War Eagle parents and guests. To make a reservation at this discounted rate, click here, or call 334-821-8200.
After your son or daughter registers for CWE, an e-mail confirmation will be sent to your student’s Auburn e-mail account. A confirmation letter and packet will also be mailed within a week of your registration. The confirmation letter and packet contains important materials including a parking pass, map, lodging brochure, instructions for the math placement test, and other essential information. If your student has not received this letter and packet within two weeks of registering for Camp War Eagle, please contact our office at 334-844-4501.

The Auburn University Medical Clinic requires all students to turn in a Medical Information Form prior to attending Auburn. The medical form should be submitted electronically via MedPass on the AU Medical Clinic website. Click here to be directed to the form. If your student does not have the form completed by the time your son or daughter attends Camp War Eagle, he/she will sign a Letter of Understanding which states that the form will be submitted within 30 days or his/her schedule will be dropped.

If your son or daughter requires special accommodations, please contact the Office of Accessibility at (334)844-2096 or visit their website.  Click on “Students” to find information about the steps to receive accommodations. You are encouraged to visit their office at 1244 Haley Center during your visit to Auburn. Also, be sure to visit their informational session while at CWE.

While at CWE, please be sure you are familiar with the checkout process for the Friday/Tuesday morning of CWE.  It will be to your student’s advantage to understand the process to avoid confusion and possible delays in arriving to your advising and registration location on time. This is especially important if you will be dropping off your son or daughter for Camp on Day 1 and picking them up on the afternoon of Day 2. More specific Checkout instructions will be provided by the Camp and Parent Counselors.
